Do not hate the trials that befall you or the calamities that happen to you, for they may be something that you hate but it leads you to salvation, and there may be something that you love, but it brings to you your doom - Hasan al-Basri [not a hadith]

Lets put a halt to our own double-standards
Often times we act as though we are the judge passing judgements and snickering at others mistakes and faults, but then we become very good lawyers on our own behalf, defending our own faults and shortcomings. Maybe it's time we put a halt to our own double-standards, in'sha'Allah! [not a hadith]

keep your brothers and sisters in your duaa.
So many of our brothers and sisters around the world are sick and suffering. So, indeed, keep your brothers and sisters in your duaa. Whether it's a poor boy from Somalia who is without food, or a young girl in Pakistan who is abandoned, or the old man in China who is abused, or the sister in Syria who is oppressed, or the brother in Egypt imprisoned, or the orphan in Afghanistan without any support, or the young man in Iraq suffering from a psychiatric disease, or the uncle in Malaysia who is sick, or the aunty from Burma without a family. There are so many of our fellow Muslims in tough times. So let's try to make dua for those whom we know and those whom we don't know [not a hadith]

Always Be Thankful to ALLAH
When Allah has chosen you to be guided, this wasn’t because you were special. This is plain mercy from Allah which can be taken away any moment from you. Therefore, don’t think too high of your good deeds and never look down at those who were less fortunate and not guided. Remember that you were once one of them so praise Allah who guided you and ask Him to keep you steadfast. - Assim AlHakeem [not a hadith]

Another common mistake some Muslims make While offering Salah/Namaz
Another common mistake some Muslims make while they're engaged in prayer is that they don't properly cover their awrah. For example, some men wear small sized shirts and while it may cover them while they're standing, their lower back becomes exposed when they go down into sajda/prostration, potentially exposing their awrah and potentially invalidating their prayer. So let's make an effort to properly cover ourselves when we engage in the salaah/namaz, in'sha'Allah! [not a hadith]

Things once should avoid while offering Salah/Namaz/Prayers
Continuing our theme, another common mistake some people make when they pray salah/namaz is that when they are in sajda/prostration, they lift their toes up off the ground. However, we are required to keep our toes touching the ground as we have been ordered to prostrate upon seven limbs and the toes are counted as 2 of them! Furthermore, it's recommend to try to point your toes towards the qiblah while in sajda too! [not a hadith]

Daughter to perform Hajj for Mother's vowed
It has been narrated that a woman came to the Prophet (SAW) and said, "My mother vowed to perform the Hajj but she died before performing it. Should I perform the Hajj on her behalf?" He was reported to have said, "Yes! Perform the Hajj on her behalf. See, if your mother had been in debt, would you have paid her debt?" She said, "Yes." He was reported to have said, "So you should pay what is for Him as Allah has more right that one should fulfill one's obligations to Him." [for the actual hadith, see Bukhari]

A Muslim's Characteristics
Abdullah ibn Amr narrated, "A Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue or his hands. And a Muhajir (an emigrant) is the one who gives up (abandons) all what Allah has forbidden" [see Bukhari Vol 8 Book 76 No 491]
So if we were to consider ourselves on these conditions, could we comfortably say that we fulfill this characteristic of a Muslim? How about a Muhajir? (a reminder to myself first and foremost, in'sha'Allah)

Task after Salah/Prayers
Did you know its desirable to say "Subhan'Allah" "Alhamdulillah" "AllahuAkbar" 33 times after each fardh salah/prayer? For the 100th thing, you can say "La ilaaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa Huwa 'aala kullishay'in Qadeer" So let's try to implement this awesome dhikr into our daily routine for some (or all!) of our daily prayers, in'sha'Allah!

Dua For Parents
Want a dua directly from the Quran that you can recite for your parents? Memorize the following dua then!
رَّبِّ ارْØَÙ…ْÙ‡ُÙ…َا ÙƒَÙ…َا رَبَّÙŠَانِÙŠ صَغِيرًا
Rab-bir-hum-hoo-ma ka-ma rabba-ya-nee sa-ghee-ra
(the hum sounds like the word hum not hoom!)
My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small
This short yet very awesome dua is found in Surat al-Isra, in the latter half of verse 24 (so its at 17:24). Learn this dua if you dont know it and teach it to your kids so they can say it so it helps you too, in'sha'Allah!
If you are using the English transliteration to memorize the dua, please double check your recitation with someone or confirm it by listening to it online (for example, at a website likewww.quranexplorer.com or www.tanzil.net)

More you learn Islam more you realize
When you study the religion, you should fine yourself becoming more humbled by your studies. If you have only a little bit of knowledge, you may start thinking you know everything and start thinking of yourself as a big shot wanting people to ask YOU their questions. However, in reality, the more you learn, the more you should realize how little you truly know!

Things we need to avoid!
Often times if we come across mistakes our fellow brothers and sisters make, we feel the
urge to call them out and start thinking we are better than them. However, when it comes
to our own sins, we tend to make excuses for them and write off our own mistakes. When
will we learn? (a reminder to myself first and foremost, in'sha'Allah).

Paradise (jannah)
Know how we sometimes get tired, depressed, bored, or exhausted? Well, if we make it to
paradise (jannah) (in'sha'Allah!), those attributes of ours will be a thing of the past, as Abu
Huraira
narrated:
"He who would get into Paradise (would be made to enjoy such an everlasting) bliss that he
would neither become destitute, nor would his clothes wear out, nor his youth would
decline." [Muslim]
May ALLAH (SWT) allow us to make it to paradise and hang out there together, Ameen!

Never feel jealous or Envious, as it is not liked by ALLAH( SWT)
Know when someone you know gets a huge blessing? Instead of being jealous and upset
with Allah's decree to bestow His Blessing upon that person, try to be happy for that
person. Indeed, if you are jealous or envious, it corrupts your heart and ruins your life. So
instead be happy for your fellow human being and be thankful to Allah. Indeed Allah has
bestowed upon you numerous blessings already that you cannot even count and ones
others would love to have! (a reminder to myself first and foremost, in'sha'Allah)

Nikkah of Fatima(radi Allahu anha) a example for all !!!
Today, the youth of many men and women is destroyed because they cannot afford the
lavish weddings that have become the standard. They do not possess, in terms of dowry or
mahr, what society says they must give in order to get married. Others get into debt for
extravagant wedding functions. To make matters worse, the resulting marriage is often not
even a successful one. In order to make our weddings more blessed we need to abandon
these customs, and on such occasions take a lesson from the simple nikkah of Fatima (radi
Allahu anha) whose dowry was one water-bag and one bed.
SubanAllah!!!

Make Dua for your Brothers and Sisters and Angel Will make dua for you!!!
Want some incentive to make some sincere dua for your brothers and sisters even if they
don't know you made dua for them? Know that if you make dua for them, then angels will
make dua for you! We are told:
"There is no believing servant who supplicates for his brother in his absence where the
angels do not say, ‘the same be for you'” [Muslim].

Words we should use often!
(There are) two words which are dear to the Beneficent (Allah) and very light (easy) for the tongue (to say), but very heavy in weight in the balance. They are: 'Subhan Allah wa-bi hamdihi' and 'Subhan Allah Al-'Adheem
You can approximate these two words as "Exalted be Allah and His is the praise" and "Exalted be Allah, the Greatest"
Note: The Adheem is pronounced almost like Azeem but not quite.
May Allah (SWT) count us amongst those He loves, Ameen!
May ALLAH ALMIGHTY reward us immensely, Ameen!

Allah Almighty's one of mighty mercy!!!
Ma'sha'Allah, check out this beautiful gem:
"If My slave intends to do a bad deed then (O Angels) do not write it unless he does it; if he does it, then write it as it is, but if he refrains from doing it for My Sake, then write it as a good deed (in his account). (On the other hand) if he intends to go a good deed, but does not do it, then write a good deed, and if he does it, then write it for him as ten good deeds up to seven-hundred times." - Translation/Meaning of a Hadith Qudsi
